Clinical trial site director, Brook Jackson, has turned whistleblower against her employer, making claims of significant data integrity issues during Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine trials in the USA, including the falsification of data.
In an explosive article published in The British Medical Journal, details of irregular and incorrect practices have been researched by an investigative journalist.
Whilst claims of these worrying practices are of great concern, there are also claims of apathetic government oversight by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
This situation is clearly worrying, especially in terms of the potential impact on claims of the safety of Pfizer’s product. Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has apparently “contacted Pfizer to further clarify the issues.” We await further updates from the TGA with bated breath.
