It’s been over two years since COVERSE gave testimony in the Australian Senate on the need to hold a COVID-19 Royal Commission. The Senate made strong recommendations that such a royal commission was needed, and put forward terms of reference for it.
Since then, however, the Australian Government has refused to consider the matter further. For this reason, renewed calls for a COVID-19 Royal Commission have emerged from a cross-section of the community, including COVERSE.
At a public event in Sydney on 10th September 2026, COVERSE’s Kara Potter gave a passionate speech about her own journey, and broader insights from COVERSE on the structural challenges that COVID-19 vaccine injured Australians have been facing since the beginning of the vaccine rollout in 2021, and that have gone unaddressed by successive governments.
